Health Snapshot · free

A free Tableau health check that measures your environment

This is not a questionnaire. You run the read-only collector, preview the file it writes, and get your top five findings back within a business day.

Not a questionnaire

A questionnaire scores

  • What you believe about your environment
  • Answers from whoever filled it in
  • A maturity grade you can't act on

The snapshot reads

  • What your environment actually did, hour by hour
  • The repository's own numbers, measured by a script you run
  • Five findings with the measurements behind them

How it goes

  1. the form below

    Request it

Name, work email, platform, rough size. We send you the collector and instructions for your administrator.

  2. ≈ 20 minutes

    Run the collector

Read-only, inside your network, no internet access. It writes one summary file to disk — you preview it and decide to send it.

  3. one business day

    Get your top five findings

The five findings that matter most in your environment, each with the numbers behind it and what to do about it.

The collector, the security model and the SQL it runs are documented on the how-it-works page.

Request the free snapshot

We reply with the collector and instructions. No calls unless you want one.

We use this only to reply to you. If you start filling this in and don't finish, we may still email you about it. See our privacy policy.

What you'll need

  • A Tableau Server administrator (repository readonly user), or a Tableau Cloud site admin who can create an access token
  • A machine inside your network with Python 3 — the collector runs anywhere the repository is reachable from
  • About 20 minutes of that administrator's time
  • Approval to send one aggregated summary file, a few hundred KB — after you've previewed it

What a finding looks like

Highextract refreshes
3.9%refresh failure rate

45 of 1,166 extract refresh jobs failed

The failures are not spread across the schedule — they concentrate in six workbooks that fail repeatedly.
